For the end of the fall season, we're reading The Library of Mount Char, a contemporary horror fantasy. Learn about what happened to "Father" a man who adopted (or kidnapped?) twelve children and raised them in a mysterious library that holds the secrets to the universe. When "Father" dies, what will these twelve individuals do with the library's power?

About the library

Independent Hill Library was the sixth library. With its mid-county location, Independent Hill is a bridge that serves both the eastern and western ends of the county. Nestled inside George Hellwig Park, the library’s pastoral setting includes a pavilion with seating and free Wi-Fi access.

The library's collection consists of books, DVDs, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers and learning tablets for all ages and interests. Independent Hill offers two public access computers, scanning, copying, and faxing services. There are several comfortable chairs with laptop trays and two study tables with chairs for patron’s convenience. Story times are offered throughout the year.
