Learn how to make your own zine! Zines are small-circulation, independently created mini-magazines. Zines are a creative way to express yourself. All materials provided! For Ages 8 and up. 

Calling all creative teens! Come to our Teen Volunteer lead program to learn all about and make your very own Zines! Zines have existed since the 1930s (or earlier!) and have been used by enthusiasts and activists to share ideas and interests, covering a broad range of topics. Whether you're interested in music, poetry, politics or art, zines are a creative way to express yourself. A zine can be anything you want it to be.  All materials provided! 

Registration required. For Ages 8 and up.

About the library

Haymarket Gainesville Library features a 24-hour book drop, 185-seat community room, four study rooms, a Quiet Study area, 21 public access computers, and a Children’s and Young Adult area. The library has a historic home, The Bushy House, and several comfortable outdoor seating areas on its property.

Haymarket Gainesville Library provides materials for children, young adults, and adults in print and digital formats. In addition, the library also offers special events and programs for all ages, including English Conversation Club, book discussion groups, one-on-one appointments for technology assistance, and U.S. Passport Services.

Several times a year, Haymarket Gainesville Library hosts absentee voting for local, state, and federal elections and is the only branch offering this special service.
