Join certified yoga teacher and librarian Catherine Seavey for this session of yoga designed to promote both inner and outer self-care utilizing Yin and Hatha styles. The program begins with finding a comfortable seat and pranayama (breathwork). Then, we will shift into a few select Yin postures to help access the connective tissues, the joints, and deeper parts the fascia. This is done by breathing in a posture for a minimum of three minutes. Following the Yin postures, we will begin warming up the body and progress into postures where we take three breaths in each posture.
This program will involve getting down to the floor on hands and knees and moving back up to a standing position. All levels of yoga practice, including beginners, are welcome and encouraged to attend. Bring your own yoga mat and a large blanket to use as props.
Ages 18+. A liability waiver and registration are required.
