Join Dr. Larrie D. Ferreiro as he discusses the American Revolutionary War as a global partnership between the United States, France, and Spain against their common adversary, Great Britain.

The role of France in the war is well-known, but it only entered that war because it had its longtime ally Spain by its side. Spain’s efforts were less visible to the Americans because they attacked vital British strongholds in Gibraltar, the Caribbean and Pensacola that were strategically important to the British military and economy, but far removed from American sight. Ultimately, it was the combined efforts of France and Spain against global British interests that brought England to the peace table.

Speaker's Bio

Dr. Larrie D. Ferreiro is the 2017 Pulitzer Prize finalist for History, for his book Brothers at Arms: American Independence and the Men of France and Spain Who Saved It.
