Tweens and Teens, show off your racing skills and faceoff as your favorite fighter as you compete in brackets at our Super Smash Bros. Mario Kart Tournament! Registration required. For grades 5-12.

Compete for bragging rights and a chance to win prizes. Rev your engines and prepare to brawl in friendly competitions. No Nintendo Switch or accessories needed to participate, though you can bring your own to warm up between matches. All skill levels welcome.

At this After Hours Program the library will be closed to the public so loud, infectious enthusiasm is highly encouraged. We ask that attendees please respect library property, library staff, and fellow participants' personal space. The Library Code of Conduct will be enforced. 

Teens may arrive between 5:00-5:30pm and must be picked up by 7:45pm. We'll begin our Super Smash Bros. Tournament at 5:30pm and our Mario Kart Tournament at 6:30pm. 

Registration is required for each attendee. Registration is not required for accompanying parents/guardians.

About the library

Haymarket Gainesville Library features a 24-hour book drop, 185-seat community room, four study rooms, a Quiet Study area, 21 public access computers, and a Children’s and Young Adult area. The library has a historic home, The Bushy House, and several comfortable outdoor seating areas on its property.

Haymarket Gainesville Library provides materials for children, young adults, and adults in print and digital formats. In addition, the library also offers special events and programs for all ages, including English Conversation Club, book discussion groups, one-on-one appointments for technology assistance, and U.S. Passport Services.

Several times a year, Haymarket Gainesville Library hosts absentee voting for local, state, and federal elections and is the only branch offering this special service.
