18th-Century Netting was a popular craft for both men and women, used for practical items like fishing/gardening nets, decorative, fashionable netted purses/reticules.
Netting is made with a netting needle and a mesh (spacer) to create a knotted net evolving into delicate accessories with embroidered patterns, vital for leisure and status before machine-made nets took over.
Join instructor Bonnie Swank and watch a demonstration on how to make hand made net, see an extensive collection of net making tools and try your hand at making a net of your own using craft sticks (that you can take home with you) as your netting needle and mesh!
