Take part in mindful needlework and enjoy the tactile feeling of making art with slow stitch techniques.
Join Emily Fasick, art educator and program assistant for the Veterans and the Arts Initiative, in the creation of a meditative fabric collage that you can continue working on at home. Participants choose from recycled fabric scraps and learn basic sewing and needlework stitches to assemble their slow stitch creations. No previous experience in art or sewing is required in this beginner-friendly workshop, which focuses on process rather than product.
This workshop is open and FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, military family members, and military caregivers ages 18 and older. Space is limited.
Please reference Veterans and the Arts Initiative Workshops Information Sheet for details. More information about the on-site workshop will be provided to registrants by email.
