Visit the library for a fun, free time filled with family friendly games that are sure to delight! All ages are welcome.

Welcome all to our spring time Garden Games! The sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. Come by to enjoy some games and the fresh air of our library patio. Below is the detailed list of our special offerings.

All Day Passive Games, 10:00 a.m.- 3:45 p.m.

  • Giant Games!: Checkers, Jenga, and Kerplunk. These are your classic games with all the same rules-- but GIANT!
  • The Great Garden Gnome Hunt- a passive scavenger hunt on our patio. Find the location of all the gnomes and their accessories and mark off on a checklist. Bring your completed hunt list to the Service Desk for a prize
  • Board games- regular size board games will be set out on tables for open play. Bring your family and friends or come by to meet a make a new friend.
  • Spot the Difference- discover how to identify Ai-generated image differences.

Oregon Trail Live Game

  • Join us for a game of live, simulated Oregon Trail. Will your group survive the journey west?
  • Please arrive a few minutes prior to start time to be assigned a group.
  • Location: Meet by Service Desk. 
  • TWO SCHEDULED TIMES:
    • 10:30- 11:15 a.m.
    • 11:30 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.

Crafting Activities

  • ALL DAY Hyacinth Flower Bouquet
    • Make a simple and sweet flower bundle with popsicle sticks, pom poms, and paper doilies.
    • While supplies last.
    • Location: Public Area
  • 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.  PAINT A POT
    • Using acrylic paint, decorate your own plant pot to take home and add some extra color to your windowsill or spring garden.
    • While supplies last.
    • Location: Community Room

Potomac Library features a 24-hour book drop, 125-seat Community Room, and a Children and Young Adult area. Potomac also features an outdoor patio and garden area for individual enjoyment as well as a setting for outdoor programs and special events.
