Compost at home to reduce organic waste going to the landfill. It's easy and very beneficial! Free kits with basic composting information and educational resources are available for pick up at Montclair Community Library during the month of June. Let's turn valuable waste into black gold compost for our yards and gardens!

Register to receive a GEOBIN composter free of charge to get started in your backyard, while supplies last. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with details to pick up and set up the GEOBIN Composter courtesy of "Compost Montclair." Call 703-792-8740 or stop by the information desk at Montclair Library to sign up.

Compost Montclair is a Friends of Montclair Community Library grant project funded by ChangeX to raise awareness about the advantages of composting and to educate and equip our community to make use of organic waste to benefit the environment. About the library

Montclair Library serves a bustling suburban community in eastern Prince William County. With large glass windows and a stone terrace suited for outdoor performances, the LEED-certified building offers inviting spaces for children, young adults, and adults, including 22 public access computers, a PS5 gaming station, and a fireplace in the reading room.

Library grounds are also home to a restored 19th century historic property known as the Barnes House, an important part of the county’s rich African-American heritage.

Montclair’s community room offers seating for up to 100 people and a large-screen TV for presentations. There are four group study rooms. An individual quiet study room is also available on a first-come, first-served basis.
