Free Tax Assistance – 2021 Tax Returns

Tax preparation services will begin on February 1, 2022 in the Community Room. Walk-in service is NOT provided. You must schedule an appointment in advance to have your return prepared. We will start taking telephone appointment requests on January 17th. The contact phone number is: 571 316-0493.
- When scheduling your appointment you will be asked if you have been fully vaccinated for Covid-19. Those clients who have been vaccinated will be able to sit with the tax counselor during return preparation. A vaccination card may be requested to be shown.
- Anyone NOT vaccinated will still have their tax returns prepared. However, after receiving your tax documents you will be asked to leave the Community Room until your returns have been completed. If questions arise during return preparation you will be contacted at the cell phone number provided on the intake/interview form.
- The dates and hours of operation are scheduled as follows, but may change at a later date:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays: 10:15 am – 3 pm
o February 1 – April 14
- Saturdays: 10:15 am – 3pm
o February 19
o March 5
o March 19
An IRS intake/interview form 13614-C should be completed in advance of the appointment. This form has been completed in prior years. The form will be available in the library in mid-January. The form may also be obtained at irs.gov.
When appearing for the appointment please bring the following tax documents:
a) All income and expense information to be used in preparing your return;
b) Your prior-year return;
c) Taxpayer identification;
d) The intake/interview form;
e) Notice 1444-C from the IRS – the Notice is only sent to those individuals who received an Economic Impact payment (stimulus check); and,
f) Letter 6419 from the IRS – the Letter is only sent to those individuals who received Child Tax Credit payments.
NOTE: If this is your 1st visit to Tax-Aide you must bring social security cards for yourself and all dependents. For those who we have prepared your return in the past, you must also bring the social security card for any new dependent added to the return.
Chinn Park Library features a 24-hour book drop, 125-seat Community Room, a Quiet Study Room, two individual study rooms, a group study room with a smart TV, a Children and Young Adult area, and 24 public access computers.
The Management and Government Information Center (MAGIC) is a specialized collection of local, state and federal government information. MAGIC has the same hours of operation as Chinn Park. MAGIC staff are available to assist with local, state and federal government information as well as with its print and digital resources.
