We want to enjoy the benefits of native plants, and we want to be good neighbors. What to do?
Using native plants in home gardening has become more popular. Creating and maintaining such gardens benefit people by requiring less maintenance and fewer resources than most conventional yards, and offer better food, homes, and refuge for birds, butterflies, and other critters.
At the same time, neighbors, HOAs, and local governments that prefer more traditional landscaping sometimes criticize native plant gardens as messy, and even a nuisance.
This talk will show how by knowing a plant's growing requirements and habits; and using psychology and basic garden design principles, home gardeners can create attractive native plant gardens that the neighbors won't complain about.
The program will be rescheduled in inclement weather to February 24, 2024.
