This hands-on, beginner friendly workshop uses hammers to skillfully press leaves, flowers, and other plant parts onto tea towels to design botanical fabric prints.

This hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop uses hammers to skillfully press leaves, flowers, and other plant parts onto tea towels to design botanical fabric prints. Materials and instruction will be provided.   
George Mason University's Veterans and the Arts Initiative is a proud sponsor of these workshops designed for military-connected community members. Registration required. Participants must be 12 years or older; any participant under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

About the library

Haymarket Gainesville Library features a 24-hour book drop, 185-seat community room, four study rooms, a Quiet Study area, 21 public access computers, and a Children’s and Young Adult area. The library has a historic home, The Bushy House, and several comfortable outdoor seating areas on its property.

Haymarket Gainesville Library provides materials for children, young adults, and adults in print and digital formats. In addition, the library also offers special events and programs for all ages, including English Conversation Club, book discussion groups, one-on-one appointments for technology assistance, and U.S. Passport Services.

Several times a year, Haymarket Gainesville Library hosts absentee voting for local, state, and federal elections and is the only branch offering this special service.
